Job Summary:
Chick-fil-A is seeking a dedicated, high-performing Kitchen Director to lead and oversee all back-of-house operations. This role requires a passion for excellence in food preparation, quality assurance, team development, and operational efficiency. As Kitchen Director, you will be responsible for upholding Chick-fil-A's high standards for food safety, cleanliness, and hospitality while managing a dynamic kitchen team.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management:
- Lead and develop a team of kitchen leaders and team members.
- Create a positive, performance-driven culture that promotes teamwork, accountability, and excellence.
- Manage staffing levels, scheduling, and shift coverage for the kitchen.
- Provide coaching, training, and performance evaluations for kitchen staff.
Operational Excellence:
- Ensure all food safety, cleanliness, and sanitation standards are met in accordance with Chick-fil-A and health department guidelines.
- Maintain inventory levels, place orders, and control food costs and waste.
- Oversee preparation and execution of all menu items with consistency and speed.
- Monitor kitchen performance metrics and implement process improvements.
Customer Experience:
- Ensure a smooth and efficient flow of food from the kitchen to the front-of-house.
- Collaborate with the front-of-house leadership to deliver a seamless and delightful guest experience.
- Quickly respond to and resolve any food-related guest concerns or quality issues.
Financial Accountability:
- Assist in managing kitchen labor and food cost budgets.
- Track kitchen expenses and participate in cost-control initiatives.
- Analyze sales trends to forecast kitchen needs and staffing.
Qualifications:
- At least two years of leadership experience in a fast-paced kitchen or restaurant environment (Chick-fil-A or QSR experience preferred).
- Completed college level degree or has 4+ years of management/leadership experience.
- Strong understanding of food safety standards (ServSafe Certification preferred).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Flexible availability, including early mornings, nights, and Saturdays.
