Midwood Smokehouse, a beloved member of the FS Food Group portfolio, is seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team in the Charlotte area locations. Known for our authentic barbecue and commitment to culinary excellence, Midwood Smokehouse is a staple in the Charlotte dining scene, and we are excited to welcome a new Sous Chef to contribute to our continued success.

As a Sous Chef at Midwood Smokehouse in the vibrant Charlotte market, you will play a crucial role in the culinary success of our restaurant. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Culinary Leadership: Collaborate with the Head Chef and culinary team to execute the menu with precision and creativity. Ensure consistency in flavor, presentation, and quality of dishes.
  • Kitchen Operations: Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and cleanliness. Maintain high standards of sanitation and safety.
  • Menu Execution: Contribute to menu execution and staying true to the authentic barbecue traditions that define Midwood Smokehouse.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with kitchen staff to train, motivate, and mentor the team. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Quality Control: Monitor food quality, portion control, and presentation to meet the restaurant's standards. Implement and maintain high culinary standards.


  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high-volume restaurant setting.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Passion for barbecue and a creative approach to menu development.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
