Primary Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Greet guests with a warm welcome and guide them through a CHEERS experience.
  • Describe wines, winemaking techniques and winery history
  • Promote the sale of wine, non-wine merchandise and Wine Clubs
  • Handle routine purchasing transactions, which includes guest account accuracy and processing of all transactions
  • Process shipping orders and ensure that wine is shipped to the reciprocal states only and that correct shipping procedures are followed.
  • Provide general tourist information
  • Work to promote new ideas to increase monthly sales and improve operational needs
  • Perform daily opening procedures, which include reviewing all reservations, table assignments, double checking cleanliness, wine quality and preparing yourself for success.
  • Perform close-of-day procedures, which includes locking/arming the facility, reconciling samples, counting cash and balancing registers, ensuring that daily receipts are properly secured in the safe, and that closing checklists are properly completed.
  • Maintain supply of clean polished glasses, washing and drying racks of glasses throughout the day.
  • Assist in keeping wine storage and the Tasting Room organized and properly maintained.
  • Expedite and run food to tables in absence of a food runner
  • Assist with on-site events, and monthly Pairings Dinners
  • General housekeeping responsibilities, which includes cleaning work area, wiping counters, dusting, etc.
  • Assist with other duties, as necessary or requested
  • Supports company’s effort to create a more sustainable, cross-cultural, and “green” environment.


Requirements:

  • High school diploma or similar.
  • A valid/current OLCC and Food Handler’s Card (or be willing to obtain one prior to start date).
  • Must be willing to work weekends, holidays and on-site winery events. Most of these events are held over holiday weekends such as Memorial Day and Thanksgiving
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and follow through on issues in a timely manner.
  • Communicate through active listening skills and gather insight into human behavior.


• Must be able to:

  • Lift 40lbs and navigate stairs and hilly terrain.
  • Stand for long periods of time.
  • Work weekends and occasional evenings.
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions appropriately.
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and as part of a team. Build team dynamics and synergy across departments.


Must have

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Highly developed organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel.

  • Independently motivated to identify and resolve issues, at department-level.
