We are seeking a skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for meal preparation, proper food handling, and supporting menu planning in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This is a day shift position, with typical shifts scheduled from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM or 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food
- Cook and plate menu items in compliance with established recipes and standards
- Assist in the development of new menu items and specials
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area
- Ensure all food meets food safety and quality standards
- Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Line Cook, Prep Cook, or relevant role
- Knowledge of various cooking methods and techniques
- Familiarity with fine dining and catering practices
- Understanding of kitchen sanitation and food safety guidelines
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Certification from a culinary school or relevant field is a plus
