Position Summary
The Assistant General Manager (AGM) supports the General Manager and Owner/Operator in leading daily operations and developing team excellence across all areas of the restaurant. The AGM ensures Chick-fil-A North Dupont Hwy operates efficiently, safely, and profitably while maintaining the brand’s hallmark of exceptional guest service and team member care. This individual plays a key role in driving operational execution, leadership development, and guest satisfaction, serving as a bridge between Directors, Team Leaders, and the Executive Team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Leadership
- Support the General Manager in overseeing day-to-day restaurant operations, including Front of House (FOH), Back of House (BOH), Catering, and Drive-Thru performance.
- Ensure all operations meet Chick-fil-A’s standards for food safety, quality, speed of service, and cleanliness.
- Perform regular operational walks to assess safety, sanitation, and service standards.
- Support scheduling, labor management, and operational efficiency across all dayparts.
- Assist with monitoring food costs, labor costs, and waste to improve profitability.
- Oversee and assist with catering, mobile orders, and delivery channel execution.
2. Leadership and People Development
- Partner with the General Manager to coach, mentor, and hold Directors & Team Leaders accountable to performance expectations and company policies.
- Model servant leadership by supporting a positive culture of teamwork, professionalism, and integrity.
- Participate in the onboarding and training of new leaders and team members.
- Conduct coaching conversations and assist with performance reviews and disciplinary actions as needed.
- Help maintain a culture of recognition and appreciation throughout the restaurant.
3. Guest Experience
- Champion Chick-fil-A’s standard of hospitality by ensuring every guest interaction is warm, accurate, and efficient.
- Resolve guest complaints quickly and professionally, identifying patterns and recommending improvements.
- Ensure systems are in place to measure guest satisfaction and drive continuous improvement.
4. Administrative and Operational Support
- Support the completion of accurate daily and weekly reports, including sales, inventory, and labor tracking.
- Assist with schedule approvals, time clock reviews, and HotSchedules management when needed.
- Participate in leadership meetings, providing updates on performance, issues, and initiatives.
- Help enforce compliance with local, state, and Chick-fil-A operational policies.
5. Strategic Growth and Communication
- Communicate effectively between the Owner/Operator, General Manager, and Director team to ensure alignment on goals and priorities.
- Support the implementation of new systems, programs, or initiatives from the Owner/Operator or Support Center.
- Provide feedback and insights on operations, guest trends, and team dynamics to influence strategic decisions.
Requirements and Expectations
- Availability to work 45–50 hours per week, including early mornings, nights, and weekends. (open availability)
- 3-5 years of proven leadership experience in food service, preferably at Chick-fil-A or a comparable concept.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to lead through influence and accountability.
- Demonstrates maturity, professionalism, and a problem-solving mindset.
- ServSafe Certification is a plus (will eventually be required)
- Ability to multitask and remain composed under pressure.
