Rhythmpourium Production Assistant

Rate of pay$13.5 per hour

TIME FRAME: This is a short term, seasonal position.

April 11 to May 9, 2025


POSITION SUMMARY: The Merchandising Rhythmpourium Production Assistant plays a crucial role in the setup and merchandising of the Rhythmpourium Tent. This position entails coordinating with artists, managing inventory, and ensuring a seamless operation of the merchandise area.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


Pre-Festival Duties:

  • Utilize approved merchandise tracking systems.
  • Receive merchandise from artists and verify inventory.
  • Input relevant information into the designated database.
  • Ensure that Artist Consignment CDs meet professional recording standards.
  • Operate the bar-coding system efficiently.
  • Assist in setting up the CD Tent, including organizing racks and arranging merchandise.

Festival Duties:

  • Replace barcodes on merchandise as needed.
  • Restock merchandise as required throughout the festival.
  • Address customer and staff inquiries regarding CD availability.
  • Assist the Tent manager with closing procedures.

Between Weekends:

  • Support in conducting physical inventory checks of all stock.

Post-Festival Duties:

  • Assist in the final physical inventory count.
  • Pack inventory for shipment or pickup by artists or wholesalers.
  • Aid in the breakdown of the tent.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Using the Absentee Request Form, it is the responsibility of each employee and their supervisor to accurately report their absenteeism to the Festival Finance Office.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive issues.
  • Give any document, computer program, design, or other intellectual property created for the Jazz Festival (and, therefore, belonging to the Jazz Festival) to the Festival through your
  • supervisor or department head at the end of each production year, or upon request.
  • Attend and complete any required training.
  • Complete all required Feedback Forms and Final Reports.
  • Must attend and complete any required training.
  • Perform all other work-related duties, as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Previous production experience is preferred.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high-stress workplace environment.
  • Proficiency in computer applications such as Excel, Access, and Word.
  • Basic understanding of accounting procedures.
  • Capable of handling heavy lifting tasks.

Note: This role may require occasional heavy lifting and flexibility in working hours to accommodate festival schedules.
