- Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment promptly and efficiently.
- Follow proper procedures for sorting, stacking, and storing clean dishes and utensils.
- Assist with food preparation tasks, such as daily prep, peeling potatoes, and preparing ingredients as directed by the manager on duty.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen work areas, including sweeping and mopping floors, wiping down counters, and sanitizing surfaces.
- Dispose of waste and recycling in accordance with established procedures.
- Empty and clean trash cans regularly to ensure a hygienic kitchen environment.
- Assist in receiving and storing food deliveries, ensuring proper rotation and labeling of ingredients.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations and timely service.
- Follow all health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Adhere to proper food handling and storage practices to prevent contamination and ensure food quality.
- Assist with other duties as assigned by the manager.
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred, but not required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain cleanliness and organization.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Food handling certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a passion for the culinary arts.
