Construction Engineering Inspector

Onyx Enterprise, Inc. is currently searching for a full-time Construction Engineering Inspector who will provide technical oversight, construction engineering, and field coordination for water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects throughout the Tampa Bay region.
Onyx is a Civil Engineering consulting and construction firm. We provide services to federal, state, municipal and commercial clients in Michigan, Ohio, Georgia, and Florida.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related discipline)
- 3–8 years of experience in construction engineering or CEI for water/wastewater/stormwater projects
- Knowledge of Florida construction standards and permitting requirements
- Experience with FDOT LAP projects and utility coordination preferred
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and sequencing
- Proficiency in project documentation tools and Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiarity with coastal resiliency, flood control, and green infrastructure systems
Key Responsibilities:
Construction Management & Oversight
- Serve as the on-site engineering representative for water resources projects, including pipelines, pump stations, treatment facilities, and stormwater systems
- Monitor contractor activities for compliance with plans, specifications, and contract documents
- Review shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, and change orders for technical accuracy
- Coordinate daily construction activities with contractors, inspectors, and project stakeholders
Field Engineering & Inspection
- Monitor contractor activities for compliance with plans, specifications, and contract documents
- Review shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, and change orders for technical accuracy
- Coordinate daily construction activities with contractors, inspectors, and project stakeholders
Project Coordination
- Monitor contractor activities for compliance with plans, specifications, and contract documents
- Review shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, and change orders for technical accuracy
- Coordinate daily construction activities with contractors, inspectors, and project stakeholders
Compliance & Documentation
- Monitor contractor activities for compliance with plans, specifications, and contract documents
- Review shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, and change orders for technical accuracy
- Coordinate daily construction activities with contractors, inspectors, and project stakeholders
