Assistant General Manager

Rate of pay$21 per hour

We make it our mission to bring the joy of delicious food closer to everyone, everywhere!  Our Kitchen Assistant General Managers (AGM) regularly work the production line and direct service, while also supporting the Kitchen General Manager (KGM) by training, coaching and driving the overall performance of the kitchen against goals.  This is a supportive leadership role that combines a hands-on approach,  using a high degree of initiative, communication, prioritization and independent judgment primarily during production hours. 



Requirements:

  • 6+ months of food service experience, with the ability to cook food in accordance with standards.
  • 1 year or more experience of coaching and supervising 1 or more employees.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Essential frequent physical requirements including standing for prolonged periods of time, bending, kneeling and reaching.
  • Applicants must be able to read training materials and order instructions in English.
  • Applicants must be able to observe details at close range.


What you’ll do:


Operational Excellence

  • Oversee and work the line. Support success during shifts by assigning stations and working alongside crew members in hands-on capacity regularly. React, adjust and problem solve for situations like call outs or equipment malfunctions.
  • Complete daily food prep ensuring the kitchen is stocked to par, and be proficient in using all required kitchen equipment including knives. 
  • Prepare menu items as ordered by customers, ensuring all items are prepared and fulfilled to standard; verifying the quality and quantity of all orders. Effectively model and train on all crew skills. 
  • Complete troubleshooting and escalations for any equipment, facilities or tech issues.
  • Support the execution of changes in the Kitchen, including changes to menu, equipment, or process.
  • Maintain a safe and compliant workplace on a per shift basis, and escalate issues as needed to KGM or Field Leadership.
  • Uphold All Day USA Operations policies, procedures and operational standards. 
  • Support KGM as needed with tasks like placing orders, and assisting with inventory. Act ask KGM during vacation periods etc.

Leadership

  • Under the direction and guidance of the KGM, assist with hiring, onboarding coaching and developing team members. Provide team members with proper training, and deliver timely and consistent feedback on their performance. Provide a model of excellence. 
  • Deliver an engaging and caring work environment for crew members, escalating concerns to Field Leadership when unable to resolve issues on your own.
  • With the direction of the KGM, support day to day operations in your assigned kitchen during key business hours to execute consistently great food.  AGMs must be available to work peak hours (including opening and closing and some weekends), without direct supervision of the KGM. 
  • Observe and coach crew members’ performance on the line, assessing and validating production and quality, and ensuring efficiency 
  • Drive team goals as directed by KGM, and hold crew members accountable for efficiency and quality. Provide immediate coaching, and make recommendations to KGM for other coaching or disciplinary needs. 
  • Collaborate and provide immediate feedback to KGM on performance or other concerns impacting kitchen, and enact assigned initiatives.

  • Reliable and diligent. You’ll be working with a small team so every crew members’ contribution is important!
  • Schedule flexibility. Crew members may be scheduled to work day and late night shifts, including weekends and our peak business hours from 9 pm to 2 am.  
  • Demonstrates effective training and coaching skills.
  • Tech savvy: you must be comfortable using modern kitchen equipment like industrial ovens, and navigating multiple electronic applications, such as ordering systems, with the ability to troubleshoot. 
  • Sense of urgency, and ability to multitask. 
  • Strong customer focus, always balancing speed of delivery with the highest quality.
  • Positive attitude and clear communication skills. 
  • Approachable, engaging, and adaptable to various learning styles and training locations.
  • Self motivated, great problem solver, and finds innovative solutions.
  • Occasional local travel to support other kitchens, move product, etc.

Minimum Age Requirement & Certification:

  • We have a minimum age requirement of 18 years.
  • Must pass a Food Manager Safety Exam, and other required certifications locally
