GENERAL SUMMARY:

Our People Team is expanding, and we are seeking an experienced People (HR) Manager to join our Restaurant Support Office in Addison, TX. The ideal person will have a passion for people, operational excellence, and overall deliver an exceptional Velvet Taco Tribe experience.

The Restaurant Support Office (RSO) People Operations Manager plays a critical role in achieving Velvet Taco’s annual and long-term growth plans for the entire company. Reporting to the Director of People Operations, the position will be primarily responsible for supporting Velvet Taco’s Restaurant Support Office talent and workforce initiatives, as well as HRIS facilitation and general RSO administrative duties. This person must be a cultural leader for the brand and help to execute the talent, succession, and retention goals as a building block for one of the hottest restaurant concepts in the industry.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This role will be included in leadership opportunities beyond traditional talent or administrative duties as the company begins an aggressive growth and expansion plan. Position responsibilities include the following:

• Administrator for Restaurant Support Office and Salaried Team Members in HRIS System (Toast Payroll), ensuring proper onboarding, transfers, I-9 compliance, etc. providing reports as necessary for internal/external audits
• Partnering with Director of HR to ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resources federal and state requirements
• Lead Restaurant Support Office Talent Acquisition needs and recruiting efforts by posting positions, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, writing offer letters and administering background checks to ensure a positive onboarding experience for new hires
• Supports People Operations Managers with the recruiting and interviewing process, employee relations, conducting exit interviews; and interpretation of standards, policies, practices, recommending changes when necessary
• Maintain job description library ensuring accuracy and consistency making updates as necessary
• Mitigate risk and liability when handling employee relations investigations, following proper due diligence, conducting thorough and objective investigations, providing recommended follow-up actions, and executing any necessary actions, as necessary
• Conduct benefit enrollment eligibility tracking (ACA & 30-day period) and communication to Salaried and Hourly Team Members (e.g., Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(K), Life, Qualified life events, COBRA)
• Facilitates Worker’s Compensation program by ensuring timely claims reporting, follow-up, return to work plan, and Team Member communication
• Manages the FMLA documentation and tracking process for all Team Members
• Manages terminations, transfers, and onboarding processing in HRIS system
• Sends quarterly PTO balances to ensure timely usage and accurate accruals
• Participates in Team Member Appreciation by sending monthly Birthdays and Anniversaries reports
• Orders office supplies and ensures office areas are well maintained and fully stocked
• Participates in the planning and execution of Restaurant Support Office Team Appreciation efforts

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field required, (Human Resources, Hospitality, Business Management)
• 5+ years of recruiting in multi-unit retail, restaurant or hospitality required.
• Demonstrated command of: Excel and other analytical and reporting systems/tools, Restaurant/Retail operations, Enterprise reporting systems, Payroll or Benefit systems
• Strong communication skills and ability to multitask and work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to partner and manage cross functionally with other departments
• Self-starter and must be able to work both autonomously and in a group setting
• Skilled in process and project management

• Travel Requirements: Travel as necessary to existing and future Velvet Taco markets
