GENERAL SUMMARY:

Velvet Taco has 35+ company-owned restaurants across multiple states, with plans to open 10+ restaurants a year over the next 5 years! We are in search of a Vice President of Marketing to join our Restaurant Support Office in Addison, TX.

The Vice President of Marketing plays a critical role in achieving Velvet Taco’s annual and long-term growth plans. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the ideal candidate is the creative force behind the Velvet Taco brand.  This role requires a digitally savvy brand leader who will identify guest and campaign insights, bringing vision and mentorship to the entire Creative and Marketing team. PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

This newly created role will be part of the Executive Leadership Team and provide opportunities beyond traditional duties as the company continues an aggressive expansion plan. Position responsibilities include the following:

• Lead the overall brand strategy and fostering a culture of innovation by creating and executing end-to-end brand marketing plans and campaigns across all channels, enabling next generation thinking for Velvet Taco
• Develop and track metrics and success criteria for all brand programs and activities and lead consumer research and competitive/business analysis to identify opportunities for sustainable business growth
• Lead the existing marketing team of three direct reports including: Digital Marketing Manager, Catering & Sales Manager, and a Senior Marketing Specialist.
• Lead all marketing, planning, and implementation across all elements of the marketing mix with hands-on emphasis in: loyalty, online presence, social media interfaces, promotion, research, public relations, and advertising
• Effectively establish and manage relationships with external agencies to achieve sustainable results
• Work closely with Operations, Culinary and Leadership Team on new menu development ensuring the company’s menu is in tune with consumer demands, trends, and customer satisfaction
• Proactively identify and lead process improvements for marketing planning and implementation ensuring deliverables are timely and within budget
• Ensure overall consistency in brand messaging and identity across all marketing materials and digital channels
• Attract, recruit, coach, and train top talent within your marketing team as company continues to grow

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field required, MBA a plus
• 10+ years of brand marketing, brand management, marketing communications or advertising experience required
• Must have experience in food, hospitality, retail, or CPG with a customer-first strategy
• A strong track record of developing and implementing innovative marketing strategies that have consistently met or exceeded planned goals, creating credibility through career accomplishments
• Detail-oriented, highly organized and ability to collaborate with colleagues in results driven environment
• A track record of team building and experience balanced in strategic planning and execution
• Excellent communication skills, a strong cross-functional influencer, and effective spokesperson for the brand
• Location: Position located in Velvet Taco Restaurant Support Office in Addison, TX
• Travel Requirements: Travel as necessary to existing and future Velvet Taco markets
