Accounting Assistant
Job Type: Part-time (approx. 20 hours/week, 4 days/week) with opportunities for additional hours and potential full-time employment. Role is on-site in Downtown Orlando Headquarters.
Pay Range: $ 19- 21 per hour

Job Description
The Accounting Assistant will support daily accounting functions and office operations. Responsibilities include accounts payable/receivable, data entry, invoicing, record keeping, answering phones, and general administrative support.
- Performs routine accounting activities such as data entry, maintenance of the general ledger, preparation of various accounting statements and financial reports.
- Creates invoices according to company practices; submits invoices to customers.
- Assists in preparing, posting, verifying and recording customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable.
- May create reports regarding the current status of customer accounts as requested.
- Research customer discrepancies and past-due amounts with the assistance of other staff.
- Assists in generating monthly billing statements based on the general ledger.
- Analyzes accounts receivable transactions to ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
- Provides administrative support to the department. Duties may include responding and resolving administrative inquiries and questions as well as copying and filing.
- Oversees telephone services, email correspondence, and mail distribution.
- Welcomes and directs visitors and vendors.
- Retrieves information as requested from records, email, minutes, and other related documents; prepares written summaries of data when needed.
- May assist with expense reporting, invoicing, office supply inventory, or other routine processes
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Qualifications and Skills
- Working knowledge of basic bookkeeping and accounting practices.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software as well as other accounting software programs.
- Ability to operate related office equipment, such as computers, 10-key calculator, and copier.
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Accounting or Business preferred.
- Requires one year of general work experience in an office environment.
