Job Description: 


The Assistant Clinical Field Director will aid in coordinating a clinical training and QA team, and state-and site-based cold chain teams at a minimum of 10 sites. The Assistant Field Clinical Director will be responsible for working closely with the State Field Clinical Director to oversee clinical needs at multiple sites, manage clinical leads across sites, maintain vaccination procedures across state programs, respond to medical inquiries, and ensure the training of medical staff on clinical procedures. In addition, the Assistant Clinical Field Director will be the first point of contact for clinical site leads and will coordinate with multiple departments to meet the day to day operational needs of multiple, simultaneous missions. This is a remote position that requires frequent travel near Baltimore and throughout Maryland.


Responsibilities

  • Ensure vaccination cold chain follows state, county, and company policies
  • Follow CDC guidelines for COVID-19 vaccination and testing procedures, conduct skill evaluations on all staff performing vaccinations and testing, and ensure clinical documentation for COVID-19 vaccination and testing sites are completed daily
  • Follow standard and company policy-based clinical safety procedures, regularly audit vaccination and testing sites for proper adherence to procedures and ensure manufacturers’ instructions are followed
  • Work closely with the Clinical Field Director to disseminate standard operating procedures, standing medical orders and relevant policy updates to clinical staff in a timely manner
  • Ensure clinical policies and procedures comply with current state and federal regulations and OSHA, CDC, HIPAA, CLIA-waiver and vaccine manufacturer guidelines, requirements, and regulations. Identify and recommend policies and procedures as needed to ensure quality, compliance, accuracy, and cost efficiency
  • Manage clinical leads at each vaccination and testing location, respond to site medical inquiries, and assist site staff in managing adverse reactions and medical emergencies
  • Attend all launches, ensure proper procedures are followed, and ensure incident reporting is completed and followed up on
  • Ensure all staff have completed required trainings and maintain proper documentation of trainings
  • Document findings and implement action plans for improvement
  • Ensure testing staff are following procedures for specimen collection, labeling storage, and resulting
  • Assist staff with identifying and trouble-shooting test system failures
  • Ensure site staff understand specimen transportation needs and adhere to the transport requirements
  • Coordinate and oversee activities of state vaccination and testing clinics and clinical team members to ensure compassionate, effective, and efficient delivery of high-quality customer service and patient care
  • Effectively organize, assign, and delegate duties and tasks to clinical team members
  • Assist with or conduct periodic staff meetings with clinical leadership team members
  • Attend department meetings and relay pertinent information to clinical team members
  • Attend periodic training sessions and meetings pertinent to position
  • Maintain certification or licensure. Maintain CPR certification
  • Perform all other duties as assigned. Duties may change as operations evolve

Requirements:

  • Current RN or LPN Maryland State License (Required)
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification (Required)
  • Current ACLS/PALS Certification (Preferred)
  • General computer skills
  • Proven ability to multitask with attention to detail
  • High level of flexibility and problem-solving skills 
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to professionally defuse stressful situations with difficult customers
  • Excellent computer knowledge and ability to quickly learn custom applications

  • Depending on the testing site, the job might be performed INSIDE and OUTSIDE. You will be in constant motion and will have physical activities, such as lifting (0-50 lbs.), bending, reaching, and stooping, standing, sitting, crawling, kneeling, and ascending and descending stairs. You will need to be able to reach with arms and hands, and use hands and fingers to feel, handle, and manipulate keyboard keys. The employee is required to talk and hear
  • Employees might also be required to drive the company vehicle during the working hours. Valid driver’s license required
  • Availability to work remotely and travel frequently near Baltimore and throughout Maryland
