The Operations Manager is a leadership role that is overall responsible for the organisation’s boutique and non-boutique operations. From building a best-in-class customer service team, to managing operational processes, resources and compliance to company’s and industry’s standards, your leadership will inspire our team to make our boutiques the best place to work and visit, and will grow the Birds of Paradise brand in Singapore and beyond.

Job Scope

Main responsibilities

·       Meet company’s goals by leading and managing the operations department

·       Meet company’s goals by making every Birds of Paradise boutique a great place to visit, taking great care of every customer touchpoint, and that every aspect of operations are in good health and running smoothly every day.

·       Inspire, motivate and enable team to work towards a best-in-class service

·       Build a culture of care, trust and delight within the team, boutiques and community.

Lead Operations Department

·       Lead and manage all operational processes in the organisation, and lead your team in achieving operational and service excellence

·       Plan and manage resources (cost, manpower, roster) optimally to achieve operational excellence

·       Lead in the recruitment of part-timers to meet company’s needs

·       Lead in audits and assessments, ensuring all processes adhere to company’s standards and SOPs and all other regulatory standards.

·       Lead in closing gaps timely within boutiques and the department

·       Drive continuous improvement within the department

·       Develop workplans & strategies for the department to achieve targets, as well as track and review department performance

·       Plan and execute strategies to maximize resources and manpower efficiencies

·       Plan and execute strategies to meet sales target

·       Chair regular operations meetings

·       Prepare and present management reports

·       Write and update SOPs

·      And any other projects assigned by the company

Develop staff within the department

·       Drive department’s learning and development plans

·       Develop staff’s competencies and skills through mentoring, training, reviews and feedback

·       Build a dedicated team who are great ambassadors of the brand


·       Collaborate and work well with other teams in the company and with partners

·       Collaborate with Marketing & Communications team in creating content and visual communications (e.g. photos, signs and posters) for boutiques and social media when needed

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the F&B/retail industry or min. 3 years of experience in F&B /retail operations management or similar role
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (excel, word) and Google Suites (google doc, google sheet)
  • Hybrid of office and shift hours (including weekends and public holidays) (5-day work week)
  • Tech-savvy
  • Diploma or higher
