Human Resource Coordinator duties and responsibilities

As the MicroHabitat team grow’s throughout North America, so has our need to have people in the team capable to act as a Human Resource and administrative Coordinator. MicroHabitat presently employs 40 seasonal and permanent employees throughout our four Cities ( Montreal - Toronto - Vancouver - New York) . With increasing efforts invested into our North-American expansion we plan to double our urban farming capacity by 2023. 

 Duties and responsibilities: 

  • Staffing and recruiting for the various positions within the organization
  • Anticipating future employment needs based on company growth targets
  • Support the farming, sales and administrative department
  • Coordinate and manage employee benefits
  • Administer attendance record (e.g leaves of absences and sick days)
  • Coordinate and manage employee benefit programs 
  • Perform employee satisfaction reports
  • Perform periodic employee evaluations 
  • Support the administrative department with payroll 
  • Creating and optimizing employment guides for each department

Human Resource Coordinator skills and qualifications

MicroHabitat is searching for someone that is proficient with computers and people capable of building, maintaining and growing the MicroHabitat team. As our geographical expansion continues, we are searching for someone capable of expanding our human resource department. 


Skills and Qualifications : 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Organization and time management skills
  • Understanding of the products or services the company sells and our industry
  • Ability to analyze and interpret employee satisfaction reports 
  • Knowledge of human resources management
  • Ability to complete tasks under pressure and resolve disputes between employees
  • Ability to keep track of lots of small details

Human Resource Coordinator education and training requirements

We are looking for someone with a HR Degree/Diploma or other related field, candidate without a degree who have exceptional recruitment experience will also be considered  0-2 year of related human resources, recruiting or administrative support experience. 

· Strong communication skills (English and French) verbal and written with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the company

· MS Office advanced proficiency and having previous experience using various recruitment strategies through social media

· Passion for recruitment, willing to learn

· A team player, committed, takes initiative with service mindset, go-getter

· Must be organized, detailed oriented, autonomous

· Sound judgment, initiative, and ability to change prioritizing workloads on demand
