Food Runner / Busser

Goal: Keep tables turning and support service speed every shift

Pay: $12–$14/hr 

Key Job Descriptions:

• Clearing — Tables cleared within 60 seconds of guests leaving
• Reset — Full reset done before the next guest sits down
• Window — Food never sits in the window more than 2 minutes
• Stock — Bussing supplies restocked before peak every shift
• Awareness — Eyes on the floor at all times — never zone out

Do This (Daily)

1. Clear — Hit every table within 60 seconds of guests leaving
2. Window — Alert servers to food in the window immediately
3. Stock — Restock all bussing supplies before the rush starts

Do This (Weekly)

1. Report — Tell Service Manager about any recurring service slowdowns
2. Clean — Deep clean your station area every week

Avoid This

1. Slow — There is no slow pace during service — keep moving
2. Partial — Never leave a half-reset table — finish the job
3. Blind — Food sitting in the window is always your problem too

You're Out If: Food sits in window 5+ minutes due to your inaction — three times in one month

Career Path: Expeditor/Busser → Lead Server or Prep Cook → Assistant Manager
