Overview:
As a Kitchen Shift Leader at Chick-fil-A, you will play a key role in ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently. You will lead a team of kitchen team members, over see food preparation, ensure product quality, maintain cleanliness and safety standards, and provide excellent service in a fast-paced environment. This leadership position requires strong communication skills, an eye for detail, and the ability to motivate and guide a team to success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and motivate team members to deliver high-quality food products quickly and efficiently.
- Provide ongoing training and support to kitchen team members to ensure adherence to Chick-fil-A’s high standards.
- Assign tasks to kitchen team members based on their skills and the needs of the shift.
- Model teamwork, positive attitude, and commitment to excellent customer service.
- Oversee food preparation to ensure consistent product quality, taste, and appearance.
- Monitor kitchen equipment to ensure it is functioning properly and report any issues to the operations director.
- Ensure the kitchen is stocked with necessary ingredients and supplies, and communicate with management when inventory is low.
- Maintain and enforce Chick-fil-A's food safety and sanitation standards, including proper handling, storage, and preparation techniques.
- Monitor cooking times, temperatures, and portion sizes to ensure consistency and quality of food.
- Implement and follow company procedures for food safety, cleanliness, and hygiene.
- Ensure orders are prepared and served in a timely manner with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction.
- Handle any customer concerns or feedback related to kitchen operations, working with management to address issues promptly.
- Manage the flow of kitchen operations during peak hours, ensuring efficiency and minimal downtime.
- Keep track of time and labor to ensure productivity while maintaining labor cost controls.
- Coordinate with the front-of-house team to ensure smooth transitions and communication during peak periods.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment, preferably in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of kitchen operations, food safety, and sanitation standards.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
- Ability to multitask, stay organized, and handle high-pressure situations.
- A positive attitude and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
- Basic math and computer skills to manage inventory and track time.
