A TYPICAL DAY AT METAL SUPERMARKETS:

Each morning we plan our day together as a team to make sure that all of our client requests are handled in a timely manner. You will act as a vital team member, focusing on inventory management and order fulfillment. Your goal is to ensure that customer orders are picked, cut, and processed efficiently and safely all the way through their delivery. In this highly independent role, your keys to success will be task and time management, as well as ambition and self-guidance!


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

· Working with the Office Operations Manager to ensure our orders are fulfilled on time and as ordered. You will have the support other leaders in the business to keep the warehouse running smoothly.

· HR: Staff Management and Training – Selection of team members for Apprentice, Junior Metal Worker and other Shop Roles with assistance from Store Management.

· Budgeting – Working with the Store Management on warehouse budgets, equipment maintenance and upgrades.

· Prioritization – Ensuring customer service through warehouse process, prioritization and quality controls.

· Warehouse Operations – Continual process improvement through observation of operations, layout and organization

· Maintenance - Ensure equipment is inspected and maintained per the maintenance schedule.

· Operate forklift in an indoor warehouse. Experience preferred.

· Cut metal with a hydraulic shear, cold saw and fully automatic robotic band saw.

· Accurate measurement with calipers, tape measures and rapid conversion between fractions and decimals.

· Maintain a clean warehouse environment by assisting in stock control, receiving, and inventory processing.

· Acknowledge and respond in a timely fashion to all order requests.

· Safely operate the company 21’ flatbed while completing pick-up and deliveries. (Class D license required. Flatbed experience is a plus!)

· Build sustainable relationships and trust with customers using open and interactive communication.

· Assist in facility maintenance and labor projects.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

· The ability to regularly lift 60 pounds unassisted

· Personal aptitude for Safety and Situational Awareness

· Strong math skills involving addition, subtraction, division and multiplication. Conversion between area units, length units and fractions to decimals is required on a daily basis.

· Louisiana Class D Driver’s License with a clean driving record

· Using tape measures to the 1/16, operation of calipers, decimals, fractions and basic math.

· A focus on efficiency, personal productivity and self-study

· Effective communication and listening skills in-person and over the phone

· Fluent in written and spoken English

· Bilingual is a bonus.
