Our Back of House Shift Leaders are the heartbeat of the kitchen. This role is responsible for running the shift and keeping back of house operations smooth, organized, and focused. From overseeing food safety and quality standards to managing throughput, positioning, and kitchen communication, Shift Leaders keep everything moving while delivering an exceptional guest experience from behind the scenes. You’ll work closely with our Directors to execute daily goals, uphold Chick-fil-A standards, and coach and develop team members in real time. This isn’t just about getting through a shift, it’s about setting the tone, leading by example, and making the entire team better. BOH Shift Leader Responsibilities:

• Lead and execute back of house operations, ensuring a smooth and successful shift

• Set the tone by modeling a positive attitude, professionalism, and a strong sense of urgency

• Ensure all food is prepared safely, accurately, and meets Chick-fil-A quality standards

• Oversee food safety, cleanliness, and organization standards at all times

• Coordinate team member breaks and maintain proper kitchen coverage throughout the shift

• Ensure all kitchen positions are staffed, supported, and operating efficiently

• Identify and resolve bottlenecks to keep kitchen operations flowing at a high level

• Monitor product levels, prep, and waste to maintain readiness and efficiency

• Coach and develop team members in real time to improve performance and confidence

• Maintain clear and consistent communication with Directors regarding shift performance, updates, and operational needs

• Step into any position as needed to support the team and ensure speed and accuracy

• Approach challenges with a solutions-focused mindset, proactively identifying and resolving issues rather than focusing on obstacles


Qualifications and Requirements:

• Demonstrates strong character, integrity, and a servant’s heart

• Ability to lead, influence, and support others in a positive, team-oriented kitchen environment

• Communicates clearly and professionally with team members and leadership

• Takes initiative, shows ownership, and follows through on responsibilities

• Ability to think critically, solve problems, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced kitchen environment

• Maintains a solutions-focused mindset, addressing challenges proactively and constructively

• Committed to upholding Chick-fil-A food safety, cleanliness, and quality standards at all times

• Coaches and supports team members with care, accountability, and attention to detail

• Reliable, dependable, and maintains consistent attendance and professionalism

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, and Saturdays

• Previous leadership or kitchen experience preferred

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in a physically demanding environment
