Summary


The Housekeeper serves a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness of the hotel property. Housekeepers work at various locations around the hotel grounds, including guest rooms, public spaces, restrooms, lobbies, laundry, and linen rooms. Duties include efficiently and thoroughly cleaning various locations, as listed above, as directed by the housekeeping supervisor/s, maintaining housekeeper carts, folding linen, removing trash, and informing the supervisor immediately when clean rooms are ready for inspection. Report safety and maintenance issues inside guest rooms to supervisor. Report guest problems or issues to supervisor as observed. Housekeepers will work in a team atmosphere coordinating issues and assisting Front Desk, Maintenance, and Management.


Wages:

  • Hourly Wage: $17 per hour.
  • Eligible for Tips: Yes
  • Bonus: Eligible for a work performance-based bonus of up to $1.00 for every hour worked from Monday, May 6 through Sunday, October 20; must work a minimum of 200 hours in total. The associate must work until the date of commitment, agreed to at the interview.


Essential Functions

  • Clean rooms as directed by the Housekeeping Supervisors or Manager on Duty and maintain cleaning carts.
  • Efficiently and thoroughly clean rooms, common areas, & maintain the good appearance of the hotel property for the comfort of the guests.
  • Inform Supervisor immediately of rooms ready for inspection, any safety or maintenance issues, or guest problems.
  • Assists with folding laundry.
  • Assists with receiving and counting cleaning supplies and coffee supplies.
  • Assists with taking out hotel trash and loading trash dumpsters.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Able to work with industrial cleaning supplies and chemicals.
  • Must have an intermediate understanding of the English Language.
  • Able to take direction and correction from Supervisor with respect.
  • Enthusiastic, professional, courteous, and positive attitude with guests and coworkers.
  • Able to arrive to work in-person, on-time, as scheduled, and wearing the housekeeping uniform.
  • Adherence to company uniform and grooming standards.

 

Preferred Competencies

  • Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred, but not required.
  • Fluent in speaking and understanding the English Language.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.


Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Able to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays, especially during the summer season.
  • Primarily works morning and early-afternoon hours, but is flexible in working varying hours; full-time or part-time.
  • During peak-season, works up to 6 days per week with up to 40 hours per week.
  • Works with industrial cleaning supplies and chemicals.
  • Will generally work indoors, but occasionally be outside and exposed to sun, hot temperatures, or rain when moving between guest rooms or common areas.
  • Must be able to stand, stoop, or stretch for long periods of time and walk the hotel grounds.
  • Able to lift and/or push up to 50 lbs.
