Pool Attendant:
The Pool Attendant maintains a clean and safe pool environment for guests. This position is responsible for monitoring the pool area, opening/closing the pool each day, testing the pool water on a regular basis, enforcing pool area rules, being attentive to the pool area, and keeping the outdoor area clean and tidy. Pool Attendants need to be able to communicate effectively and maintain a calm demeanor.
Wages:
- Pay: $15 - $18 per hour.
- Bonus: Eligible for a work performance-based bonus of up to $0.50 for every hour worked from Monday, May 4 through Sunday, October 18; must work a minimum of 200 hours in total. The associate must work until the date of commitment, agreed to at the interview.
Essential Functions:
- Supervise activities at the pool area, including enforcement of rules and policies of the pool area.
- Maintain a clean pool area, including removing trash.
- Maintain pool water sanitation and test pool water according to regulatory requirements.
- Replenish pool towels and straighten up lounge chairs.
- Direct swimmers out of the water in dangerous conditions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to swim.
- Must be able to work in the absence of supervision.
- Must have an intermediate understanding of the English Language.
- Able to arrive to work in-person, on-time, as scheduled, and wearing the hotel uniform.
- Adherence to company uniform and appearance standards.
Preferred Competencies:
- Prior pool attendant experience preferred, but not required.
- Fluent in speaking and understanding the English Language; bi-lingual a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
- Swimming proficiency and comfort in all types of water conditions.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions for entire shift.
- Ability to react to emergency situations quickly.
- Primarily works morning and early-afternoon hours, but is flexible in working varying hours; full-time or part-time.
- Must be able to stand, stoop, or stretch for long periods of time and walk the hotel grounds.
- Ability to lift or assist persons in distress of varying weights.
