Position Summary:
The Diamond Shift Coordinator will be responsible for running the restaurant in the
absence of exempt management personnel.
Placement in the Organization:
- Reports to the General Manager.
- Leads and assists all hourly staff during a shift.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversees a shift by leading other hourly employees to ensure brand standards execution and adherence.
- Works with exempt management personnel to build strong team relationships and a positive work environment.
- Table touches and resolves guest complaints to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Coaches’ hourly employees on customer service skills, the service cycle, and other customer focused activities to meet or exceed customer service standards.
- Assists exempt management staff with hourly employee training and development.
- Brings employee relations issues, deviations from brand standards, and other guest issues to the attention of an exempt manager.
- Completes shift walk-thrus, temperature checks, and counts down register drawers.
- All other tasks and duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required:
- One or more years’ experience as hourly restaurant employee; Unit Promotable must have successfully completed the Diamond Development Program.
- Completion of all e-learning job code modules.
- High school diploma or GED certificate.
- A neat, professional appearance.
- Food Safety Manager Certification.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Places a value on diversity and shows respect for others.
- Strong oral communication skills and the ability to communicate with all levels within the restaurant.
- Communicates effectively in the English language.
- Ability to read and implement instructions.
- Basic math and cash handling skills.
- A customer service orientation.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings.
Physical Requirements:
- The ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- The ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to tolerate extreme temperature changes in kitchen and freezer areas.
