Job Overview

The Back of House Director is a high level leadership position in the restaurant underneath the

Owner/Operator. This full-time role is responsible for leading all aspects of back of house operations,

including team performance, guest experience, quality and food safety, speed of service, inventory management and overall daily

execution.

This role sits on the senior leadership team and carries significant influence over the culture, performance,

and long-term growth of the business. It requires high emotional intelligence, deep personal investment, and

an unwavering commitment to our values, excellence, and care.

The Back of House Director is a very operationally involved role - it's a hands-on leadership position that will require intense

physical and mental engagement, especially during the grand opening and early operational season. This

person must thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, able to lead from the front with clarity, urgency, and

humility.


Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

- Lead daily execution across Back of House, Inventory, and Food Safety

- Ensure operational excellence in speed, accuracy, hospitality, and cleanliness

- Maintain and uphold Chick-fil-A's food safety and quality standards

- Ensure 100% adherence to Chick-fil-A recipes, systems, and procedures

- Drive continuous improvement through team coaching and accountability


Team Development

- Coach and support Shift Leaders and Team Members during all shifts- Model and teach performance expectations for all positions

- Support the selection, training, and development of new leaders

- Foster a culture of care, excellence, and team unity


Strategic Planning & Execution

- Identify and implement systems to support sustainable growth

- Lead operational readiness for grand opening and promotional events

- Track performance metrics and create plans for improvement

- Collaborate with other Directors and the Owner/Operator on high-level decisions


Skills & Experience Required

- Minimum 1 year of Restaurant leadership experience

- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams

- Demonstrated success in driving operational excellence

- Strong communication and decision-making skills

- Must be able to work on your feet for up to 10 hours at a time

- Experience leading during peak business periods preferred


Work Expectations & Requirements

- Full-time (40-60 hours/week, can be higher during grand opening season, and will settle at 40-50 on a regular basis after grand opening season)

- Complete availability and flexibility required - including nights, weekends, and holidays

- Must be able to operate in a high-stress, high-demand environment with poise and professionalism

- Must be a self-starter, adaptable, and resilient in the face of constant change

- Willingness to learn and uphold 100% of Chick-fil-A operational procedures

- Must be able to handle confidential and sensitive information responsibly


Compensation & Benefits
