Here is a professional, compelling job posting tailored exactly to the standards and operational needs of Pour Destino.
Front of House (FOH) Manager
Company: Pour Destino
Location: Elmhurst, IL
Job Type: Full-Time
About Pour Destino
Pour Destino is a premier Spanish dining bar with global influences, featuring a vibrant dining room, a large bar, private dining space, and a curated retail wine selection. Designed as a center for relaxation and interaction, we pride ourselves on delivering an exceptional, seamless guest experience. We are looking for a strong, detail-oriented FOH Manager to lead our floor operations and uphold our high standards.
The Role
As the FOH Manager, you are the face of Pour Destino. You will act as a direct extension of the ownership group, interacting with more guests daily than we can. We are looking for a leader with an "Owner's Eye"—someone who treats the business, the profit margins, and the brand reputation as if they were their own.
You will be responsible for driving the guest experience, managing the FOH team, maintaining our retail wine program, and ensuring operational excellence from open to close.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience & Floor Management
- 100% Table Touch Policy: Proactively visit every single table. Build rapport with happy guests and catch/resolve small issues before they become negative reviews.
- Active Floor Presence: Manage the flow of the shift, keeping ticket times fast and ensuring the kitchen and bar are not overwhelmed.
- Reservation Management: Oversee the books to maximize seating efficiency while maintaining a smooth dining pace.
Team Leadership & Accountability
- Scheduling: Create and post FOH schedules at least 2 weeks in advance using Teamwork.
- Discipline & Standards: Strictly enforce all opening and closing procedures. You must hold the team accountable, including issuing write-ups for staff who fail to follow the rules.
- Pre-Shift Execution: Run daily pre-shift meetings to communicate 86'd items, specials, and operational focuses.
Retail Wine Management (Critical Focus)
- Daily Maintenance: Maintain the retail wine space daily. Ensure bottles are constantly faced, restocked, and visually appealing.
- Organization: Keep wines strictly organized by type and price (higher-priced bottles on top shelves, lower-priced on the bottom).
- System Integrity: Ensure every bottle has a physical price tag, a working barcode, and is accurately accounted for in the POS system.
Inventory, Financials & Reporting
- Weekly Operations Report: Submit a mandatory report every Sunday night or Monday morning detailing departmental sales (Liquor, Coffee, Retail, N/A, Food), operational wins, areas for improvement, and stock needs.
- POS & Ordering: Maintain accurate daily counts in the POS for all items and modifiers. Notify ownership every Monday of all liquor/wine ordering needs.
- Recipe Management: Input and update all cocktail recipes in Opsi for staff training and accurate cost pricing.
Cleanliness & Presentation
- The Clean Standard: Maintain a spotless restaurant at all times. Actively monitor the floor for debris, dirty menus, and bathroom cleanliness mid-shift.
- Professional Attire: Lead by example. The uniform requirement is clean jeans or dress pants/slacks with a nice button-down or polo. (Strictly prohibited: joggers, sweatpants, hoodies, and slides).
Requirements
- Proven management experience in a high-volume, quality-driven restaurant or wine bar.
- Strong understanding of steps of service and table management.
- Experience with restaurant tech stacks (POS systems, scheduling software like Teamwork, and recipe platforms like Opsi).
- High level of accountability and the ability to have tough conversations with staff when necessary.
