Job Description: Front of House Chick-fil-A Shift Leader


Position Overview:


As a Front of House Chick-fil-A Shift Leader, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the restaurant's front-of-house activities. You will lead and inspire a team of team members, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining a clean, organized, and fast paced dining experience in the drive thru, dining room, carry out and mobile ordering areas. ,and upholding Chick-fil-A's standards of quality and hospitality. Your leadership will contribute to creating a positive and enjoyable dining experience for our guests.


Starting Pay: $15.50 | Full Time & Part Time Employment Status


Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership:
  • Supervise and lead a team of front-of-house team members during your shift.
  • Set a positive example for the team by demonstrating excellent customer service, professionalism, and a strong work ethic.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring that each member knows their role and responsibilities.
  • Customer Service:
  • Greet customers with a warm and friendly demeanor, ensuring they feel welcome and valued.
  • Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally, seeking to resolve any issues to the customer's satisfaction.
  • Order Accuracy and Efficiency:
  • Ensure that orders are accurately taken and transmitted to the kitchen, and that completed orders are verified before being served to customers.
  • Monitor order preparation times and work with the kitchen team to maintain efficient service.
  • Dining Area Management:
  • Oversee the cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including tables, chairs, condiment stations, and restrooms.
  • Regularly inspect the dining area to ensure it meets Chick-fil-A's standards of cleanliness and aesthetics.
  • Cash Handling and Accountability:
  • Manage cash registers and handle transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Perform cash reconciliation at the end of the shift and ensure proper documentation of transactions.
  • Training and Development:
  • Assist in training new team members on front-of-house procedures, customer service, and Chick-fil-A's values.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to team members, identifying areas for improvement and recognizing exceptional performance.
  • Compliance and Safety:
  • Ensure compliance with Chick-fil-A's food safety, sanitation, and health standards.
  • Uphold Chick-fil-A's policies and procedures, including those related to safety, cleanliness, and dress code.
  • Shift Management:
  • Manage shift transitions, including opening and closing procedures, ensuring a smooth handover between shifts.
  • Manage and adjust set ups, breaks, team member rotations, and shift systems that set up the team for a successful shift.
  • Document and take notes on the shift and team member performance including but not limited to: Time and Attendance Occurrences, Dress Code, Core Values, Waste, Points or Infractions in VSBL and SLACK.
  • Collaborate and complete all catering needs to fulfill within the promised time.
  • Coordinate with other shift leaders, managers, and kitchen staff to maintain efficient operations.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role, preferably in the restaurant or hospitality industry.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a passion for providing exceptional service.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with cash handling and basic math skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Knowledge of Chick-fil-A's menu and values is a plus.

Schedule and Work Location:

  • Monday through Saturday on site at Chick-fil-A Beltway 8 & Hammerly
  • Minimum Requirement for Leadership: Three 8 hour shifts
  • Up to 40 hours maintaining training, operations, systems and processes, and people development
