The bartender manager ensures the bar is running smoothly by overseeing its day-to-day operations. The Bar Manager's responsibility to maintain a safe and fun environment for customers. Bar Managers maintain liquor licensing and ensure that staff follows local requirements and proper alcohol distribution regulations. Is in charge of hiring and training bar employees and building schedules to ensure enough people are working at the bar during its peak hours.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains inventory.
  • Advertise the daily, weekly and monthly promotions of the bar.
  • Provides input on decor and marketing, including social media and other forms of publicity.
  • Performs opening and closing duties
  • Selects and purchases liquor and other supplies.
  • Creates new drinks.
  • Prepares and serve cocktails and mocktails.
  • Ensures bar is well-stocked and clean.
  • Maintains drink recipe documentation.
  • Determines bar employees schedules.
  • Appropriately delegates tasks to bar staff.
  • Oversees planning for special bar events.
  • Oversees staff, including bartenders and barbacks, and, in some cases wait staff as well.
  • Tracks customer behavior and sales.
  • Maintains budget and monitors costs.
  • Manages compliance with food and beverage hygiene policies and procedures.
  • Manages equipment maintenance.
  • Hires, trains, promotes, and, when necessary, disciplines or fires staff.
  • Initiates and maintains vendor relationships.
  • Uses point-of-sale tracking technology and bar and restaurant management platforms.
