Your Impact
The Director of Culinary acts as a visionary through providing culinary leadership across multiple locations and concepts at PHG. This position
involves spearheading menu development and innovation to uphold PHG’s culinary standards and to create exceptional guest experiences. With a focus on financial management and effective communication, the Director of Culinary will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive profitability and align culinary strategies with business objectives.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead the development of creative and innovative menus that drive revenue and align with the company’s culinary vision and brand standards
- Lead research and development initiatives to explore new ingredients, techniques, and flavor profiles
- Collaborate with culinary teams to develop seasonal menus, special promotions, and unique culinary offerings
- Conduct regular menu reviews and updates to ensure freshness, creativity, and profitability
- Conduct regular audits to ensure safety and standards are met across all locations and concepts
- Establishes and maintains standard operating procedures (SOPs) for food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen organization
- Review, source, and approve all new menu item specifications, partnering with Director of Food and Beverage to identify and source vendors
- Monitor food costs, inventory levels, and kitchen efficiency to optimize profitability and minimize waste
- Stay current on culinary trends, industry best practices, and emerging technologies to drive innovation and differentiation
Your Skills/Experience
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, culinary arts, or related field; or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of Executive Chef experience, preferably in a high-volume, full-service restaurant or hospitality environment
- Proven history of success as an Executive Chef and in the development of menus that drive the customer experience while maximizing profits
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment effectively and efficiently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with customers, guests, vendors, and internal stakeholder
- Comfortability managing and developing external relationships with vendors and suppliers
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and implement solutions
