About the Role

Smoothie King is hiring a Catering & Event Operations Lead (Community Partner) to bring our purpose beyond the blender — fueling Kansas City’s biggest events, tournaments, and workplaces with our mission of inspiring people to live healthy and active lives.

You’ll oversee and participate in off-site catering and event operations, managing everything from smoothie prep and transport to setup, service, and community engagement.

If you’ve led catering, foodservice, or QSR operations and love high-energy events, this role gives you a chance to take ownership, drive growth, and be rewarded directly for performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and participate in pre-event smoothie production, packaging, labeling, and delivery.
  • Transport products, equipment, and team members using a company-provided vehicle.
  • Oversee setup and teardown of off-site catering and event booths; ensure quality and presentation.
  • Manage on-site guest service, team coordination, and real-time problem-solving.
  • Build and maintain relationships with schools, businesses, and event partners to drive repeat catering sales.
  • Track key metrics (sales growth, labor efficiency, and waste reduction) and report to leadership.
  • Help identify new catering and community partnership opportunities to fill off-season gaps.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in catering, restaurant, foodservice, or event operations (QSR or fast-casual preferred).
  • Proven ability to manage off-site setups, coordinate team logistics, and maintain food safety standards.
  • Strong understanding of prep scheduling, transport timing, and guest service under pressure.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (required for company vehicle use).
  • ServSafe or similar food safety certification (or willingness to obtain within 60 days).
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work long weekend shifts.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and customer interaction skills.
  • Leadership experience or the ability to supervise small teams preferred.

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Early morning starts (as early as 5:00 a.m.) during event weekends.
  • Weekend-heavy schedule (Fri–Sun) with flexible weekday prep and recovery time.
  • Combination of indoor and outdoor event environments across the Kansas City Metro.

Compensation & Growth

This position combines a steady hourly base with monthly performance-based bonuses tied to catering and off-site event results.

You’ll have the ability to significantly grow your earnings based on sales and operational performance, with total annual income ranging from $50,000 to $70,000+ for top performers.
