SUMMARY
The Assistant Construction Project Manager supports senior
Project Managers in the successful execution of residential and commercial
restoration/reconstruction projects. This role helps oversee field production,
documentation accuracy, subcontractor coordination, and customer communication
from start to finish. The APM monitors job progress, assists with estimates and
scopes, and ensures work is completed safely, on schedule, and according to
company quality standards. This position is designed as a growth path into a
full Project Manager role within 12–24 months.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Job & Field Coordination
· Retrieve work orders, confirm job details, and
ensure appropriate tools, equipment, and materials are prepared for site
activities.
· Assist in managing day-to-day field operations,
ensuring work is completed according to scope, safety standards, and within
budget.
· Conduct regular job-site visits to monitor
progress, quality, safety, material delivery, and subcontractor performance.
· Support the PM with scoping losses onsite and
identifying necessary repairs.

Maintain clean, safe, OSHA-compliant job sites.
Documentation & Estimating
· Capture clear job photos and 3D imaging when
applicable, uploading documentation into project management software.
· Assist in writing estimates in Xactimate or
similar software.
· Maintain updated project logs, job costing
records, and organize permits, COIs, and close-out documents.
Customer & Insurance Communication
· Provide consistent communication to homeowners,
adjusters, tenants, and stakeholders.
· Explain reconstruction/restoration steps to
customers and help set expectations.
· Help resolve customer questions and concerns.
Project Support & Administration
· Help create and manage project schedules.
· Assist with subcontractor scheduling and
coordination.
· Support billing tasks including supplements and
final invoicing.
· Participate in team meetings and assist training
when needed.
· Perform QA walk-throughs and assist in obtaining
approvals and payment.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
· Strong customer-service orientation and
servant-leadership mindset.
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· 1–2 years construction/restoration experience.
· Basic understanding of building materials and
damage impacts.
· Strong organizational and communication skills.
· Experience with or willingness to learn
Xactimate.
· Valid driver’s license.
· Ability to work flexible/on-call hours.
Preferred
· Restoration or superintendent experience.
· IICRC certification or willingness to obtain.
· Bilingual (English/Spanish).

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Field-based role with frequent travel to job sites. Must be
comfortable working in damaged structures and active construction zones while
using PPE.
