Snowcat Ridge: Seasonal Ice Skating Attendant Position

Join Snowcat Ridge, Florida's first Alpine Snow Park, as an Ice Skating Attendant for our exciting winter season. You'll work at the Crystal Ribbon, our outdoor ice skating ribbon and beginner oval, helping guests rent skates, get on and off the ice safely, and enjoy skating under Florida's sunny skies by day and our music and light show by night. This is a great opportunity to work outdoors in a lively setting and build valuable guest-service skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Rent ice skates, helmets, and training aids to guests and help them find the right skate size
- Sell socks at the skate rental counter and serve VIP Fast Pass guests in the express rental pick-up lane
- Collect, sanitize, and organize returned skates, helmets, and training aids
- Monitor the flow of guests onto and off of the ice at the designated access points
- Count skaters and manage the entrance line when the Crystal Ribbon reaches capacity
- Clear the ice at the top of every hour for ice resurfacing, and welcome skaters back when resurfacing is done
- Explain and enforce skating rules, including skating in the approved direction, controlled speed, no phones while skating, and training aids only in the beginner oval
- Help skaters who have fallen or are having difficulty, and assist beginners in the skating oval
- Report injuries, safety concerns, or guest disputes to a supervisor immediately
Work Areas You May Be Assigned To
- Skate Rental Counter: Rent skates, helmets, and training aids, and collect returns
- Ice Entrance and Exit: Control the flow of skaters onto and off of the ice and manage capacity
- On-Ice Monitor: Skate the Crystal Ribbon to enforce rules and help skaters who need assistance
Requirements
- 18 years or older
- Service-oriented, positive, and attentive to detail
- Confident, clear communication, including when enforcing safety rules
- Able to ice skate confidently (required for on-ice positions)
- Reliable with punctuality and following instructions
- Available for weekends, evenings, and holidays during the season
- Able to stand for up to 8 hours, lift up to 20 lbs, and work outdoors in various weather conditions, including after dark
Helpful but Not Required
- Experience at an ice rink, roller rink, or skate rental counter (training provided)
- Figure skating, hockey, or skating instruction experience
- Customer service, hospitality, or theme park experience
