Position Overview
Point Summit, Inc. is an amusement and recreation management company, currently managing Snowcat Ridge Alpine Snow Park, SCREAM-A-GEDDON Horror Park, TreeHoppers Aerial Adventure Park, White River Paintball, and Indy Scream Park Horror Park.
Point Summit is seeking a highly capable Accounting Specialist to support the financial and administrative operations of a multi-entity organization operating across attractions, events, and related businesses. This role is ideal for a detail-driven professional who values accuracy, process discipline, and consistency—and who takes pride in maintaining clean, reliable financial systems.
The Accounting Specialist plays a critical role in day-to-day financial operations, vendor and contractor compliance, payroll coordination, and account reconciliations across multiple companies. The ideal candidate is comfortable working within well-established systems, understands internal controls, and brings a proactive, ownership mindset to accounting and administrative execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately process, verify, and record accounts payable transactions in QuickBooks Online, ensuring proper documentation, coding, and timely payment.
- Prepare and distribute recurring bill approval and cash-flow reporting to executive leadership.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, loans, and merchant accounts on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Record and reconcile payroll, payroll taxes, and related liabilities in coordination with HR and external payroll providers.
- Maintain independent contractor compliance, including W-9 collection, insurance verification, contract tracking, and annual reporting support.
- Track, reconcile, and file merchant processing and point-of-sale settlement reports.
- Support purchasing administration, receipt tracking, and cost documentation for operations, attractions, and build projects.
- Administer inventory and merchandise tracking systems, including coordination of new merchandise implementations and POS updates.
- Support merchant and POS platforms such as Square and similar systems.
- Assist with insurance, legal, and corporate administrative recordkeeping.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of financial, payroll, legal, and administrative information.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- Strong proficiency with QuickBooks Online.
- Demonstrated accuracy, attention to detail, and consistency in financial or administrative work.
- Experience working with recurring deadlines, reconciliations, and multi-step approval processes.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets and cloud-based administrative tools.
- High level of organization, dependability, and professional judgment.
- 2 years of accounting and/or bookkeeping experience.
Preferred
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience with merchant services, POS systems (including Square), or multi-location operations.
- Prior experience supporting multi-entity organizations, operations-based businesses, or growing companies.
Work Environment
- In-office role at 249 Clearwater Largo Rd Largo, FL 33770.
- Established organization with defined systems and processes.
- Exposure to multiple operating companies and real-world business operations.
- Occasional on-site visits to attractions or operating locations (approximately 5 to 10 times per year), with most locations within a 1-hour drive of the main office.
Work Schedule
- Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Occasional extended hours during peak operational periods may be required.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $55,000 – $80,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
- 401(k): Eligibility after one year of employment. 100% company match on first 3% of employee contribution, and 50% company match on the next 2% of employee contribution.
