Wunder Glow: Seasonal Park Safety Officer Position

Join Wunder Glow, a holiday light experience in Dade City, Florida, as a Park Safety Officer for our exciting holiday season. Both armed and unarmed positions are available. This is a great opportunity to work in a festive outdoor setting, use your security and safety skills, and be a calm, approachable presence that helps every guest feel welcome and secure. From the parking areas to more than a mile of pathway through 50 acres of Florida's majestic oaks, you'll play a vital role in keeping Wunder Glow a safe and enjoyable place for families.
Key Responsibilities
- Patrol the pathway, Christmas Village, and parking areas to maintain a safe environment
- Greet and assist guests with questions, directions, and lost-and-found items
- Provide basic first aid to guests and contact emergency services when needed
- Respond quickly and calmly to incidents, disturbances, and guest concerns
- Help reunite lost children with their families following park procedures
- Keep guests on the designated pathway and out of the surrounding woods
- Monitor entrances and exits and support the entrance team during busy periods
- Enforce park rules politely and professionally, de-escalating situations whenever possible
- Provide information for clear, accurate incident reports
- Communicate with supervisors and team members by radio throughout your shift
Work Areas You May Be Assigned To
- Park Patrol: Walk the pathway, light scenes, and Christmas Village to keep guests safe and assisted
- Parking Areas: Keep guests safe around moving cars, golf carts, and utility vehicles
- Entrance and Exit: Support guest entry and keep entry points secure
- First Aid Response: Respond to guest injuries and medical concerns across the park
Requirements
- 18 years or older (21 or older for armed positions)
- Valid Florida Class D Security Officer License
- Valid Florida Class G Statewide Firearm License (armed positions only)
- Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain before starting
- Calm, clear, and friendly communication, especially in stressful situations
- Sound judgment and the ability to de-escalate conflicts
- Reliable with punctuality and following instructions
- Available for evening shifts, including late nights, weekends, and holidays, during the season
- Comfortable working around bright, flashing, and strobing lights, lasers, fog effects, and loud music for extended periods
- Able to stand and walk for up to 8 hours, including long distances on outdoor paths, lift up to 20 lbs, and work outdoors at night in various weather conditions
Helpful but Not Required
- Experience in security, event safety, law enforcement, or military service
- Experience with radios and incident reporting
- Customer service or hospitality experience
