Department: Marketing & Community Relations

Reports To: Owner/Operator & Operations Director

Hours/Week: 45 hours/week

Type: Year-round Leadership Role

Availability Must be available for all CFA events

POSITION SUMMARY

The Marketing & Community Relations Director is a senior hybrid leadership role responsible for driving brand growth, sales development, community partnerships, and marketing execution — while continuing to lead restaurant operations as a Leader. This role unifies the strategic vision of brand growth with the hands-on execution of local store marketing, social media, sampling, events, and team engagement. The Director serves as the primary point of accountability for all marketing activity and community presence for Chick-fil-A Delafield, directly supporting restaurant sales goals and CFA brand standards. This is a marketing AND operations position. You will be required to work in the restaurant.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Marketing Strategy & Execution

  • Plan and execute the annual Local Store Marketing (LSM) plan, including Summer & Fall seasonal campaigns.
  • Submit a detailed social media plan 2 weeks prior to each month, including balanced posts, Reels, and Stories.
  • Submit a sampling calendar 1 week prior to each month with a focus on active campaigns and Limited Time Offers (LTOs).
  • Execute in-person sampling a minimum of 5 days per week across varied day parts — the Director is personally accountable for sampling execution.
  • Coordinate and execute in-store and external events, ensuring brand alignment and strong guest engagement.
  • Oversee all POP (Point of Purchase) and ADP advertising, ensuring all content remains within CFA brand guardrails.
  • Manage marketing supply closet organization, cow costume storage, fresh flower procurement and setup, and care of seasonal outdoor plants.
  • Maintain total marketing spend at or below 1.25% of sales per month.

2. Community Relations & Partnerships

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the Delafield and Oconomowoc Chambers of Commerce, Milwaukee Brewers, Lake Country DockHounds, and other key community partners.
  • Develop and grow relationships with local school districts, private schools, and non-profit organizations to expand CFA's presence in Lake Country.
  • Identify and execute cross-promotional opportunities that strengthen brand visibility across the community.
  • Manage and fulfill the restaurant's giving budget, including food, monetary, and material donations, in alignment with expectations set by the Owner/Operator.
  • Represent Chick-fil-A Delafield at community events and serve as a brand ambassador in the local market.

3. Sales Growth

  • Drive internal sales contests, team competitions, and goal-tracking initiatives to motivate team members and grow top-line sales.
  • Support overall restaurant sales growth through strategic marketing campaigns, community engagement, and targeted outreach.

4. COOP Operations

  • Own all COOP events (in season) — responsible for planning, setup, execution, and full teardown at every event.
  • Ensure all TMS bags are emptied and removed from the COOP after every event without exception.
  • Ensure all beverages are iced a minimum of 2 hours prior to the start of every event.
  • After each event, drain and air out all coolers to prevent mold or mildew.
  • Organize coolers efficiently — maximum of 3 beverage types per cooler — and label each cooler clearly.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and visual professionalism of the COOP trailer at all times, ensuring it is event-ready.
  • Track and document every COOP event with a post-event log that includes: sales total, weather or external factors impacting performance, other vendors present, and key learnings or notes for future events.

5. Operations

  • Lead operational shifts as a Leader, maintaining accountability for labor, food cost, guest satisfaction, order accuracy, and cash handling.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, hospitality, and accountability during every shift.
  • Motivate and develop team members through internal campaigns, recognition programs, and sales competitions.
  • Communicate clearly with opening, mid, and closing teams to ensure smooth handoffs and consistent operational execution.
  • Uphold the highest standards of guest experience and CFA brand culture on every shift.

6. Administrative & Reporting

  • Track and log all admin time worked on-site with detailed task summaries — all administrative work is to be completed at the restaurant unless otherwise approved.
  • Complete Monthly EMS (Experience Management System) requirements on time each month.
  • Report directly to both the Owner/Operator and Operations Director on marketing performance, community initiatives, and shift outcomes.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs)

  • Post-event COOP documentation completed after every event (sales, weather, vendors, key learnings).
  • COOP trailer maintained in event-ready condition at all times — clean, organized, and fully stocked.
  • 100% completion of planned marketing and sampling activities each quarter.
  • Sampling executed a minimum of 5 days per week across varied day parts.
  • Social media plan submitted 2 weeks prior to each month with posts, Reels, and Stories included.
  • Sampling calendar submitted 1 week prior to each month.
  • Grow Facebook following to 3,000 by end of 2026.
  • Achieve 12,000 Spotlight users by end of 2025.
  • Maintain total marketing spend at or below 1.25% of sales per month.
  • Monthly EMS completed on time every month.
  • Documented admin time and task logs submitted consistently.
  • Shift performance metrics: labor %, food cost, guest experience scores, and order accuracy.
