Position Overview
The Kitchen Manager is responsible for overseeing all back-of-house operations, ensuring food quality, safety, speed, and consistency meet Dog Haus standards. This role owns kitchen leadership — including staffing, scheduling, ordering, and inventory — while developing a motivated and high-performing team. The Kitchen Manager works closely with store leadership to control costs, reduce waste, and drive overall restaurant performance.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring food is prepared consistently to brand standards
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness guidelines
- Lead opening and closing kitchen procedures to ensure smooth daily operations
- Create and manage kitchen team schedules to support business needs and labor efficiency
- Maintain full responsibility for ordering, inventory control, and product levels
- Monitor food cost and minimize waste through proper prep, storage, and rotation
- Train, coach, and develop kitchen team members to build a strong, reliable staff
- Create a positive, motivated kitchen culture that reflects company values
- Ensure proper food storage, labeling, and equipment cleanliness
- Communicate effectively with front-of-house leadership to support guest experience
- Enforce company procedures, safety standards, and operational systems
- Support cost control initiatives including food, labor, and supply management
- Work quickly and efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
- Step in wherever needed to support the team during busy service periods
Qualifications
- Previous kitchen leadership or restaurant management experience required
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
- Proven ability to manage ordering, inventory, and scheduling
- Ability to lead by example in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable, consistent, and highly organized
- Strong communication and team-building skills
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities under pressure
- Passion for developing team members and maintaining high standards
- Must have full availability — days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be 21 years or older
