Overstaff Healthcare Security Officer

• This position will serve as overstaff to cover for open shifts due to absenteeism or turnover. Your day‑of‑week schedule may change based on absenteeism trends; however, you will be given at least two weeks’ notice before any change in the scheduled day of the week. • While days may vary, the start and end times of your shift will not change without a mutually agreed upon arrangement between the scheduler and the officer. • If you are sent home less than two hours into your scheduled shift, you will be compensated for two hours of pay for showing up We accept applications on an ongoing basis for this role; there is no application deadline.

As a Healthcare Security Officer, you will play a crucial role in providing top-notch security services to hospital personnel, vendors, patients, and visitors. This position offers the opportunity to learn valuable skills in de-escalation, incident reporting, and emergency response.


Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Screen and direct visitors, enforce hospital guidelines, and issue passes
  • Conduct patrols to detect safety hazards and unauthorized individuals
  • Maintain accurate documentation and prepare incident reports
  • Respond to emergencies and calls for service with professionalism
  • Escort personnel, control visitor access, and assist with patient transfers

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in law enforcement, military police, or security
  • Ability to lift and drag 50 pounds
  • Proficiency in MS Word and basic computer knowledge
  • Valid government-issued ID and security officer/guard license

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks
  • Basic computer knowledge and technical skills
