Job Summary:
The Shift Supervisor will supervise and coordinate the delivery of quality services on a specific shift at an assigned customer. The Shift Lead will act as a liaison between Program Manager and professional security officers. Supervise staff on assigned shift, providing coaching, recognition and discipline within approved empowerment range.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Oversees the shift workflow of the department.
• Handles discipline of employees in accordance with company policy.
• Keep accurate logs throughout your scheduled shift.
• Must be able to frequently prepare written reports and logs in neat, legible handwriting.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Must be able to read and understand all operating procedures and instructions.
• Ability to handle both common and crisis situations at the client site, calmly and efficiently.
• Work in various environments such as cold weather, rain/snow or heat.
• Maintain the security and safety of the hospital community.
• Patrol the facility, ensuring the continual safety and security of all hospital staff, patients and visitors.
• Maintain a physical presence within the hospital facility, serving as a visible deterrent to illegal activity.
• Positively contribute to the overall patient experience by providing superior customer care.
• Provide an empathetic approach to managing patient and/or visitor aggression.
• Write detailed and accurate reports outlining any incidents that occur on the property.
• Respond to emergency situations that require security assistance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
Must be at least 18 years old
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least two years related experience required.
Physical Requirements:
Occasionally lift or carry up to 40 pounds.
Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift.
Stand or walk on various surfaces for long periods of time.
