PalAmerican Security is seeking a dependable, experienced, and proactive Operations Manager / Trainer to support our Salt Lake City branch. This hybrid role combines operational leadership with direct training responsibilities for both armed and unarmed officers, while also acting as a key liaison between frontline leadership and the Director of Operations.
The ideal candidate has a minimum of five years of experience in security, military, corrections, or law enforcement, and demonstrates a passion for training, communication, and team support. This person should thrive in a fast-paced environment, love helping others grow, and have a hands-on, team-first mentality.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead all New Hire Orientation and ongoing officer training, including:
- Basic Security Training (BST)
- CPR/First Aid/AED
- MOAB (Management of Aggressive Behavior)
- Report writing and TrackTik use
- Site-specific post order training
Train and support both armed and unarmed officers, including:
- Firearms safety and handling
- Weapon inspections and range qualification coordination
- Ammunition and armory procedures
• Assist with corrective action retraining, site-specific refreshers, and LMS tracking.
• Provide regular field visits to support officers and ensure training standards are upheld.
• Collaborate with the Client Service Manager (CSM) and site leadership to identify field issues and training needs.
• Serve as a liaison between CSMs, managers, and the Director—fielding questions, addressing minor issues, and escalating larger concerns.
• Support the Director of Operations with daily tasks, scheduling, field support, and site audits.
• Assist with client interactions, including attending meetings, resolving issues, and responding to concerns.
• Help with scheduling coordination, incident response, and field calls as needed.
• Be a visible, supportive presence in the field—a hands-on, team-first leader.
Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience in security, military, corrections, or law enforcement.
• Demonstrated experience with firearms, ammunition handling, armory procedures, and weapon qualifications.
• Familiarity with Utah DOPL regulations for armed/unarmed licensing.
• Must hold or be able to obtain a valid Utah armed license.
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
• Passion for training, mentorship, storytelling, and officer development.
• Must have or be willing to obtain instructor certifications in:
• CPR/First Aid/AED
• MOAB
• Basic Security Training (BST)
• Valid driver’s license with no more than 4 points.
• Must pass a background check and drug screen.
• Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior instructional or training experience.
• Familiarity with PalAmerican systems (WinTeam, LMS, TrackTik).
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
Quality Assurance:
- Perform regular site visits and officer evaluations to ensure adherence to policies, post orders, and company standards and DOPL Regulations.
- Conduct audits of reports, logs, uniforms, and equipment for accuracy and compliance.
- Provide feedback and recommendations for improvement to site supervisors and management.
- Assist with investigations, incident reviews, and performance improvement plans as required.
