4 Rivers Smokehouse is seeking a high-impact restaurant leader to join our team as an Assistant General Manager with a clear path to General Manager, based in Lakeland.
This role is designed for a proven AGM or experienced GM who wants to operate at a GM level, strengthen an existing restaurant, and be next in line as 4 Rivers continues to grow.
While the home base will be Lakeland, this leader must also be flexible to support nearby locations in North and South Tampa as business needs evolve.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as the second-in-command, partnering closely with the General Manager to lead daily operations
- Operate at a GM level — overseeing both front- and back-of-house performance, standards, and results
- Support in-house catering by helping plan and execute production in the kitchen
- Lead from the floor and the line — managers frequently step into positions to manage labor
- Develop, coach, and strengthen the management team and hourly staff
- Drive operational excellence across labor, food cost, inventory, and guest experience
- Provide leadership coverage across the Tampa market when needed
- Support local store marketing and community engagement efforts to grow the Lakeland business
- Step into full General Manager responsibilities when needed
- Position yourself as the next GM-ready leader as new opportunities arise
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a General Manager or high-performing Assistant General Manager in a high-volume restaurant
- GM-level leadership capability with the ability to take full operational ownership
- Strong operational and financial acumen
- Highly hands-on leadership style — comfortable working positions in a scratch kitchen environment
- Experience in both FOH and BOH operations
- Flexibility to support multiple locations within the Tampa market
- Passion for developing people and building strong teams
- Comfort with restaurant systems and performance metrics (Restaurant365, Schoox LMS, etc. a plus)
