Position Summary
The Shift Leader is responsible for leading day-to-day operations during assigned shifts. This role ensures team members are properly deployed, operational standards are followed, and guests receive fast, accurate, and friendly service. The Shift Leader is the highest level of authority on duty when management is not present.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the team during assigned shifts
- Assign positions and break schedules
- Ensure smooth shift transitions and coverage
- Serve as the point of contact for operational issues
- Ensure all required daily checklists are completed on time - may delegate tasks but is accountable for verification and follow-up
- Direct and support Trainers and Team Members
- Reinforce training standards and procedures
- Provide real-time coaching and feedback
- Escalate performance or conduct issues to management
- Issue corrective action to Team Members in accordance with company policy via jolt
- Enforce food safety, sanitation, and safety standards
- Follow company policies and procedures
- Complete shift checklists and required logs
- Report incidents, accidents, or equipment issues
- Ensure excellent guest service and order accuracy
- Handle guest concerns and guest recovery
- Maintain cleanliness of dining and service areas
- Follow proper cash handling procedures
- Must be able to work in inclement weather
- Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor
Qualifications
- Prior restaurant or fast-food experience required
- Leadership experience preferred
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends
