Reports to: Management Staff and Shift Leaders
Key Responsibilities:
Cake Preparation & Decoration: Prepare and decorate cakes according to
customer specifications, including special orders and walk-in requests.
Utilize various decorating techniques such as icing, gel, airbrushing,
edible images, and letterings to bring fans’ imaginations to life. Must maintain
consitant inventory and various cake designs in display.
Customer Engagement: Enthusiastically greet and welcome fans, striving to
exceed their expectations by delivering prompt and quality service.
Address any questions regarding product ingredients and preparation.
Food Safety & Quality: Quickly and accurately prepare all food products
while adhering to restaurant, health, and safety standards. Practice
established food handling procedures to comply with local health
regulations.
Team Collaboration: Work harmoniously with management and fellow team
members to maintain a positive and cooperative working environment. Be a
willing team player, assisting where needed to ensure smooth operations.
Inventory Management: Maintain an adequate inventory of decorated cakes at all
times, including backup cakes for holidays and peak occasions. Ensure the
display freezer is stocked with a variety of attractively displayed cakes.
Cleanliness & Maintenance: Keep the cake production area and equipment clean
and sanitary throughout the shift, using the PRIDE cake area checklist.
Perform cleaning tasks, including washing counters, tables, and removing
trash from dining/service areas.
Service Recovery: Calmly resolve fan concerns and embrace Dairy Queen’s
service recovery standards to ensure customer satisfaction.
Communication & Reporting: Communicate positively with fans and co-workers
constantly during shifts. Promptly inform management of any significant
issues or unusual matters.
Experience:
Previous cake decorating experience is preferred but not necessary. We are
willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates a passion for cake
decorating and customer service.
Skills:
Competent and proficient in using all cake decorating tools.
Physical Abilities: Ability to lift and move cases of food, paper products, and
containers weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to stand for long
periods and work in varying temperature ranges. Must be able to maintin a steady hand and hold.
Interpersonal Skills: Exhibit good manners, proper personal hygiene, and a positive
attitude at all times. Maintain strong communication with customers and
colleagues.
