Commercial & Residential Garage Door Service Technician

Full-time

The Service Technician is

the technician for residential and/or commercial garage doors, door openers,

and keyless entry systems.  Work will be

performed in newly constructed or existing homes and commercial buildings. 

 

ESSENTIAL

FUNCTIONS:

  • Troubleshoot and assess customer issues.
  • Ensure the job site is clean/safe and all materials are out of the way.
  • Work with warehouse staff for proper loading of materials for job preparation.
  • Work closely with the Service Coordinator for efficient routing and scheduling.
  • Responsible for reading and thoroughly understanding all instruction manuals for all products installed prior to beginning installation.
  • Review Work Order information for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure the truck is fueled, serviced, stock appropriately and ready for operation prior to the beginning of each workday.
  • Clean up at the job site.
  • Record on work order, details of installation, i.e. materials & supplies used, headroom, other issues or problems.
  • Aid in the development of existing employees to create an organization possessing industry leading talent.
  • Promote the company positively amongst coworkers and customers.
  • Participate in safety and accident prevention programs.
  • Ensure compliance with all government, regulatory and company policies, work procedures and instructions.
  • Responsible for complying with company policies and procedures.
  • Willingness to learn new products and take direction from manager on proper way to service/install.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED 
  • An exceptional work ethic, motivation, and customer service oriented.
  • A commitment to follow safe work guidelines and provide high quality workmanship. 
  • A clean driving record, ability to pass drug screening and background check.
  • Mechanical knowledge and skills using various hand and power tools.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
  • Must be able to communicate in English.

 

WORK CONDITIONS:

This job operates in diverse conditions including but not limited to inside and

outdoor conditions that can be exposed to the environment.  This job requires travel around the Metro

Area including the Twin Cities (Minneapolis & St Paul).  This role routinely uses standard installation

tools such as portable hand tools, screwdrivers, hammers, ladders, and other tools

used in the installation of an overhead garage door.  Outdoor environment; exposure to extreme

weather conditions; work with and around vehicles/machinery; exposure to dust

and fumes from motorized equipment; exposure to noise, odors, and gases;

exposure to heavy traffic conditions.
