Kitchen Manager

Our successful restaurant is seeking an organized, detail-oriented and experienced Kitchen Manager to fill our open role. The Kitchen Manager is responsible for conducting the daily activities of the kitchen and overseeing food operations. Typical Duties Include:

  • Manage inventory of food & restaurant supplies and place orders
  • Supervise daily food quality, food preparation and food storage
  • Monitor health and food safety regulations
  • Maintain a clean kitchen area and workspace
  • Organize a budget based on food costs and current usage
  • Communicate status of kitchen operations to the general manager
  • Monitor kitchen equipment for repairs
  • Recruit, hire and train kitchen employees and back of house staff
  • Create the weekly kitchen employee work schedule
  • Conduct training on new kitchen requirements and techniques
  • Report to restaurant managers and owners about kitchen costs and operations

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of restaurant management or food service management
  • Management skills and experience
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Food protection manager certification
  • Prior local/state inspection awareness experience
  • Past restaurant manager experience


Pay is Dependent Upon Experience.
