Manager on Duty

Position Summary

The Manager on Duty position is a Part-time Key Holder/Manager on Duty position with primary responsibilities of overseeing the store sales

staff primarily on evenings and weekends but is also open to working other hours as well.  Ensuring that we are maintaining outstanding customer service, generating sales, merchandising products, maintaining store conditions and supporting the store management team.

 

Major Responsibilities     

  • Ensure each customer receives outstanding service which follows the WOW process and by mystery shop standards       
  • Ensure that the daily operational, day-to-day goals, worklists and priorities assigned by store management are completed        
  • Assist in the training and development of all Sales Associates and Cashiers       
  • Uphold merchandising and store cleanliness standards      
  • Oversee and participate in the processing of new shipments and help the team to keep the receiving and back stock area clean and organized  
  • Responsive to any and all safety issues   
  • Ensure that customers are being helped with locating merchandise in-store, on acehardware.com, as well as, processing special orders       
  • Ensure that all company procedures and policies are being followed by the staff
  • Ensure that all items on the store closure task listed are completed before releasing staff at closing time

Minimum Requirements:     

  • Retail and people management experience     
  • Education/Training: High School degree, some college preferred.  
  • Possess a vast product knowledge of hardware related products along with a willingness to learn
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to lead and develop others    
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and task with high attention to detail     
  • Knowledge of retail computer systems and open to learning Epicor, Excel and other programs.
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business
  • Ace Hardware experience a plus

Physical Requirements 

The minimum physical requirements for this position include Ability to stand for an extended period.  Move and handle boxes of

merchandise and fixtures throughout the store, which entails lifting up to 50lbs.
