SERVER – JOB DESCRIPTION
INTRODUCTION
Osha Thai Kitchen is excited to bring authentic Thai cuisine to Houston! We focus on traditional Thai street food, complemented by a unique cocktail program and a thoughtfully curated wine and beer selection. As we prepare for our grand opening, we are seeking enthusiastic servers and waitstaff who share our passion for exceptional dining experiences.
RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES
- Provide outstanding service to our guests, ensuring their dining experience is memorable and enjoyable.
- Take and process orders accurately and efficiently, communicating with the kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely delivery.
- Maintain knowledge of the menu, including ingredients and preparation methods, to answer guests' questions confidently.
- Create a welcoming atmosphere by greeting guests warmly and addressing their needs promptly.
- Maintain knowledge of any possible allergens, and maintain food safety standards.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth service flow during busy shifts.
- Assist in setting up and clearing tables, ensuring a clean and inviting environment.
- Handle payments and ensure accurate processing of transactions.
- Participate in pre-shift meetings to stay informed about daily specials and service expectations.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including food handling guidelines.
- Actively promote menu items and upsell beverages to enhance guests' experiences.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Passion for food and beverage service.
- Positive attitude and a solution-oriented mindset.
- Self-motivated with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Excellent communication skills and emotional intelligence to connect with guests and team members.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
REQUIRED TRAINING / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience in a server or waitstaff role preferred.
- Knowledge of food and beverage service, with a willingness to learn more.
- Must have Texas Food Handlers and TABC Certifications (or be willing to obtain).
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to handle diverse guest needs.
