As a Shift Manager, you serve as a key on-floor leader responsible for guiding the team and ensuring the restaurant operates with consistency, clarity, and care during your assigned shifts. You help create stability in the moment – protecting food quality, supporting your team, and ensuring the guest experience reflects our standards.
This role leads through presence, follow-through, and accountability. Shift Managers set the tone for how each shift runs and help ensure expectations are upheld when it matters most.
This is an hourly leadership role. Compensation is based on experience, leadership capability, and consistency in executing responsibilities.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Leading assigned shifts with clarity, structure, and accountability.
- Helping ensure the restaurant operates with consistency, readiness, and care during service
- Guiding team members on priorities, pace, and execution during the shift
- Protecting food quality, safety, and consistency at all times
- Maintaining speed of service while protecting standards and guest experience
- Supporting on-the-floor training, coaching, and development of Team Members during shifts
- Actively working in food prep, cooking, and assembly to support the team and protect standards
- Ensuring opening and closing procedures are completed accurately and consistently
- Supporting guest recovery and escalations with professionalism, confidence, and care
- Maintaining accountability for cash handling, deposits, and required reporting during assigned shifts
- Monitoring inventory levels during shifts and communicating shortages or concerns to leadership
- Identifying and communicating maintenance, equipment, or facility needs promptly
- Supporting cleanliness, organization, and proper care of the restaurant and equipment
- Helping ensure operational standards and brand expectations are upheld at all times
- Escalating operational, team, or guest concerns to the Assistant General Manager or General Manager
- Stepping into any role as needed to support the team and ensure operational continuity
- Food Handler certification required within established training timeframe

- Willingness to work varied schedules, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant or leadership experience preferred, but not required
- Food Handler certification required prior to beginning in-restaurant work
- At least 18 years of age
Schedule & Environment
Team Members are responsible for following established food safety procedures and protecting food quality and guest experience at all times.
This role requires working in environments where food products, allergens, cleaning chemicals, and temperature variations are present. The role also requires the ability to stand and move for extended periods and to lift and carry items weighing up to 40 pounds with assistance when available.
Flock & Fresh prepares food in a shared restaurant environment using raw ingredients and common allergens, including wheat, dairy, eggs, soy, sesame, and other allergens. While strict food safety procedures are followed, cross-contact may occur due to shared equipment, preparation areas, and handling processes.
