Our catering and events department is all about making delicious Chick-fil-A available for events outside the restaurant. In addition to guests placing orders for trays of chicken, salad, fruit and cookies for their event, we also sell chicken sandwiches & nuggets on-site to hungry crowds at festivals, concerts, sports tournaments and swim meets. Additionally, we have a year-round concession space at some indoor sports arenas to feed their crowds on Fri nights & Saturdays. All cooking is done back at the restaurant so there is no cooking on site.
Catering coordination:
- The Catering Coordinator is aware of all catering orders for their shift, whether for pick-up or delivery.
- Catering consists of boxed meals for delivery as well as buffet style food (trays of nuggets / strips, salad, fruit and cookies).
- Serves as the liaison between the kitchen and the client.
- Ensures that every catering order is complete, rung up properly, is communicated with the kitchen and is ready on time for either customer pickup or delivery to their venue.
- Facilitates the dispatching of our catering delivery personnel.
Events support:
- The Catering Coordinator supports our events workers who are selling Chick-fil-A at off-site events (concession style) such as soccer tournaments, swim meets and festivals.
- The Catering Coordinator will support them as they load the hot food & supplies at the restaurant ensuring they have EVERYTHING they need for their event before leaving the store. The events workers are responsible for their own paperwork when returning to the restaurant after an event.
- The Catering Coordinator will communicate closely with the event workers to determine when, and how much, additional food should be sent to a venue for high-volume events.
Requirements:
- MINIMUM 18 years old - no exceptions
- Physically fit - this is not a sedentary job - we typically help our customers to their vehicles with their catering orders, so it involves carrying jugs of tea and lemonade and carrying catering bags filled with food.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Excellent and professional communication skills
- Pleasant, upbeat and cheerful attitude
- Attention to detail
- Reliable and punctual
- NO SMOKING or vaping allowed before or during work. We do not give smoke breaks.
- Must be able to pass every drug test
- Must happily abide by Chick-fil-A's grooming and appearance standards (no "rainbow" colored hair, no tattoos on face or neck, no long beards - only short cropped trimmed beards allowed, no distracting piercings)
Skills / Experience desired, but not necessarily required:
- Experience in the food industry, catering / events or hospitality
- Coordination experience
