Catering Coordinator - see details

Must be at least 18. The work schedule for THIS OPENING is Fri & Sat 11am - 9pm (total 19 hrs /week). NOTE: The description, below describes what members of our Catering & Community Events team members are doing. THIS role is to do the coordination of their activities happening "in the field" ,(selling sandwiches at events) and the kitchen who is preparing the food. Communication is key in this role - The Catering Coordinator will communicate with our Catering Director on issues, be the "go between" our field people and the kitchen operations, and ensure those serving "in the field" have what they need to be successful. If needed, the coordinator may run additional food & supplies out to events that need replenishment, so a valid driver's license with clean driving record is required. Experience with catering, concessions, serving or coordinating logistics is desired, but not required, for this role. Experience that would prepare you to be good at this is what we are looking for.

We take Chick-fil-A into the community! We sell chicken sandwiches & nuggets on-site to hungry crowds at festivals, concerts, sports tournaments and swim meets. We also have concession space at some indoor sports arenas. All cooking is done back at the restaurant so there is no cooking on site.


Logistics:

  • Leave your personal vehicle at the Summit Fair Chick-fil-A
  • Help load the trailer with hot food & supplies at the restaurant, ride in the company vehicles with an experienced Events Team Member, set up for service, sell during the event, then load up, ride back to the restaurant, unload, tally sales & inventory.

Schedule:

This position posted is for someone who can consistently work one or more of these weekly, regular events which are at the times listed below. We have flexibility for you to be off here and there (like for vacations), but we are wanting someone who could work most weeks through the summer.

In addition to Summer events, there are also events through the fall and even year-round.


These are typical shift options:


Friday evenings 5pm to 10pm

Saturdays 8am to 2pm ; 2pm to 8pm


Location:

You start and end at the Chick-fil-A in Lee's Summit. You would leave your personal vehicle at the restaurant while you worked the event.


Responsibilities:

  • Sell Chick-fil-A limited menu items at outdoor events such as soccer tournaments, swim meets and community festivals & events
  • Serve with a warm Chick-fil-A style of hospitality! Smiles, professionalism, cheerful & upbeat and kind with guests
  • Hustle! We get busy at these events so we work quickly to serve guests fast
  • Roll with the unexpected with a cheerful, can-do attitude and spirit. Sometimes we are surprised at events with the unexpected so we have to adjust on the fly
  • Represent Chick-fil-A well out in the community
  • Be accurate and attentive when making change
  • Be a physically active person. We set up, serve and break down, so there's lifting and loading involved not just selling
  • Driving company vehicles to transport our food & supplies to and from various locations for specific events and parking it in the designated space at the event
  • Ensuring timely and safe delivery of food
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the selling space (trailer, tent, booth, etc.) and the company vehicles

Requirements:

  • MINIMUM 18 years old - no exceptions
  • Physically fit - this is not a sedentary job
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Strong communication skills
  • Pleasant, upbeat and cheerful attitude
  • Attention to detail
  • Professional communication skills
  • Reliable and punctual - we MUST be on time to serve at events!
  • NO SMOKING or vaping allowed before or during work. We do not give smoke breaks.
  • Must be able to pass every drug test
  • Must happily abide by Chick-fil-A's grooming and appearance standards (no "rainbow" colored hair, no tattoos on face or neck, no long beards - only short cropped trimmed beards allowed, no distracting piercings)
