Leader In Training Program

Chick-fil-A is building a second location in Lee's Summit! We are hiring high quality people right now to prepare them to lead at the new Chick-fil-A location when it opens March 2026. Our leadership development plan will teach you our business and develop your leadership skills. Compensation and opportunity: The range in the job posting is the STARTING pay rate, with pay increases available at various milestones in the training program. We promote from within to fill our higher leadership roles of Director and Executive Director, so starting in this program with us is the way to be in line for those top leadership opportunities when they open up. Chick-fil-A Lee’s Summit Leader In Training Program (LIT Program) Chick-fil-A Lee’s Summit will be opening a second location in March of 2026! To prepare for this expansion, we have developed the Leader In Training (LIT) Program. This program is designed to develop newly hired individuals who demonstrate leadership qualities, guiding them through a focused progression of roles—from Team Member to Elite Team Member, Training Lead, and Assistant Team Lead—until they are ready to step into a Team Leader role by our second location's opening in March 2026. If you know anyone who would be a good leader at Chick-fil-A please encourage them to apply. Q: Why was the LIT Program created? A: Internal promotions alone are not enough Team Leaders to fully staff two Chick-fil-A restaurants covering 3 meals a day, 6 days a week by March 2026. This program was designed to bring in new people and get them ready to lead. Q: Do I have to do the LIT Program to become a Team Leader? A: Nope! EVERYONE hired at our store has the opportunity to move through our progression steps to leadership. That’s always been our Operator’s approach to leadership opportunities. When any team member is ready for the next step we are eager to help them progress! Q: If I’m not selected for the LIT Program do I have a shot at still becoming a Team Leader? A: Absolutely! The LIT Program is a very specific, focused program where participants are expected to be ready to serve as a Team Leader by February 1, 2026 so they have a month of practice before we open store #2. However, every team member hired is eligible to progress to leadership at their own pace without the pressure of this particular deadline. Q: Is there still room to accept new people into the program? A: Yes! We have just a few spots left. Time is running out for this rare opportunity, so if you are interested, or know someone who SHOULD be interested, please apply immediately. Q: Are there any required qualifications? A: Yes! Must be a minimum of 16 years old Have a current valid drivers license Display characteristics of personal leadership. Work a minimum 3 shifts/week (20 hours/week avg.) Be available and willing to either open or close twice a week Attend bi-weekly leader meetings Student candidates should have demonstrated leadership abilities and experience leading a group of people Adults should have some experience either training, coaching or leading others Q: Do you have to be full time to be a Team Leader? A: Nope! We have both part-time and full-time Team Leaders. Q: What is the pay rate? A: The starting pay range is listed in the job posting on the Lee’s Summit Chick-fil-A’s careers page. After starting there are four pay raise opportunities as you progress through the developmental milestones, with the goal of all of our Team Leaders making approximately $20/hour (or more) by March 2026. Q: Do you have any Director or Executive Director positions open? A: Not at this time. We have ten Directors now, who will be split between the two locations. Once our second location is open and operating well we will then consider adding additional Director positions at each store. Those Director positions are expected to be filled internally with candidates from our Team Leader associates. We have four Executive Directors at this time and future Executive Director roles will be filled internally from our Director associates.
