Our Direct Care Staff enjoy a range of opportunities as mentors assisting adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities, including (but not limited to) community activities and outings, basic living and social skills, progress toward individuals’ personal goals, accomplishing errands and tasks, and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of these individuals.
Our clients can present challenging behaviors so we are looking for employees who are:
- able to stay calm and avoid power struggles, especially in tense situations
- willing and physically able to assist clients use the restroom and with Safety Care in emergencies
- empathetic when a client is overwhelmed and solution-focused
- able to cheer them on as they take steps forward and provide positive reassurance when they don't
- thick skinned, positive, and drama-free
- fun and willing to be active in the community!
We will provide you with training in working with individuals with disabilities, including how to redirect, de-escalate situations and navigate challenging behavior.
Job Requirements
In order to be considered for our Direct Care Associate position, you must:
- have a desire to help individuals with disabilities progress with their desired goals
- be able to keep up with energetic individuals and engage in fun activities
- have a car and be willing to use it (highly preferred)
- pass state and federal background checks
- have flexible availability and commit to the schedules provided; this includes availability for Swing (2pm-10pm) and Grave (10pm-6am) shifts and all shifts on weekends. Weekends are mandatory
- be prompt, reliable, and committed to helping others; unlike other jobs, attendance and punctuality are crucial (and a state requirement) due to needs of our program
- be willing to work at multiple locations throughout the Las Vegas valley; this is non-negotiable

We also offer Health, Dental and Vision after your 90 days with our great company. We provide quality Leadership, Medication Administration, CPR/First Aid, and Safety Care training. Our DCAs start out at $16.00 an hour.
