Food and Customer Service with Whiting's Foods on the Boardwalk

We are a concessionaire on the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and the food and beverage operator for the Santa Cruz Warriors Arena. Responsibilities:

• Provide outstanding customer service in a fast-paced, loud environment
• Prepare and sell food while maintaining the high-quality standards
• Sell beer in compliance with state law and company policies (if age 18 or older)
• Maintain safety, health, and sanitation requirements

Qualifications & Training:

• 14 years or older; 16 years and older preferred
• Availability to work most weekends and holidays, with more hours available during Spring Break and summer
• Able to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, weekends, holidays
• Ability to walk, bend, stretch, and stand for up to 8 hours at a time
• Ability to lift and carry 30 pounds
• Able to understand food service orders in a loud, active environment
• Paid virtual orientation followed by in-person hands-on training and continued training throughout employment
• Willingness to acquire the government-mandated Food Handlers card
• For those 18 years and older, willingness to acquire training in the government-mandated Responsible Beverage Service for beer and wine selling

Wage info & tips:

All positions earn tips averaging around $4 per hour, making your hourly income nearly $20 per hour or higher depending on age

Starting pay range is age-based:

• $17 for those who are 18 years of age and up
• $16.50 for those who are 16 and 17 years old
• $16.00 for the limited positions we have for 14 and 15-year-olds
